I have made some changes to this article because its previous form mixed up two George Haywards from Swansea. The George Hayward who died in 1948 and was a butcher, has an obituary in the Western Mail that mentions his work for the temperance movement and his enjoyment of cricket. There is an obituary for another George Hayward in the Western Mail dated 14 October 1946 that refers to the former Swansea and Wigan "football" player. The only death that corresponds on the Civil Registration Death Index is for Arthur George Hayward. There is a marriage announcement in The South Wales Daily Post of 1910-08-10 of The Rugby player's marriage to Evelyn Davies, the Civil Registration Marriage Index gives her spouse as Arthur G Hayward.
